In May of 1373, Julian of Norwich received Sixteen Revelations of Divine Love and set them down in the first book ever written by a woman in the English language. These Revelations are an astounding work: an inspired example of Christian mysticism; a unique contribution to Christian theology; and a profound approach to contemplative prayer. Thomas Merton called Julian “one of the most wonderful of all Christian voices” and “the greatest English theologian.” Her timeless voice resonates across the ages, speaking to us of the love and mercy of God with a passion that is irresistible.  It is a voice we need to hear . . .
This contemplative retreat will go in depth to explore Julian's Revelations concerning:
  • Christ’s unconditional love and mercy
  • the transformation of suffering and death
  • the nature of contemplative prayer
  • Julian’s ground-breaking mystical theology of the Motherhood of God
  • the deeper meaning of Christ's promise to Julian (and to each one of us) that “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and thou shalt see thyself that all manner of thing shall be well.”

This Retreat offers 8 hours of teachings and guided meditations, plus Q & A.
RETREAT FEE includes both days: $100

Julian's Gospel, by Veronica Mary Rolf
First Place Winner of the Catholic Press Association Book Award
The Nautilus Gold Medal for Spirituality
The National Indie "Excellence" Award for Religion

Certainly one of the best books on Julian of Norwich I’ve ever read.  With a vast amount of research and a great deal of passion, Veronica Mary Rolf successfully recreates the world of the great mystic, provides careful explanations of Julian’s rich experiences in prayer, and, overall, paints a convincing portrait of one of the most remarkable women ever to have lived —and believed. - James Martin, S.J.
Although many books on the life and spirituality of Julian of Norwich precede Rolf’s, both veteran and newly ordained seekers of the enigmatic mystic Julian will profit from this author’s mastery of the subject matter. Julian's Revelations
take on a deeper personal nature and relevance when viewed through Rolf's historical, familial, and theological insights. The author deftly portrays a Julian of her time but for all time—a voice that speaks to 21st century people with profound wisdom, faithful to Church teaching yet always plumbing its depths. - First Place Catholic Media Association Book Award Citation

An Explorer's Guide to Julian of Norwich by Veronica Mary Rolf

Winner of the IVP Academic Press Readers' Choice Award

Rolf plumbs Julian's spiritual audacity in this must-read for those interested in medieval Christianity and literature. Publishers Weekly "Starred Review"
The grand and optimistic vision of Lady Julian is fully presented and profoundly supported in this excellent guide by Veronica Mary Rolf. I have been fed for many years by Julian, but this is a new and generous feeding. It can serve as a first-time introduction to this marvelous mystic or a fifth-time deeper journey. Richard Rohr, OFM
With an encyclopedic knowledge unfolded with the lightest of touches in a beautiful, soigné text, Veronica Mary Rolf enables us to travel back in time and vividly inhabit Julian’s fourteenth-century Norwich as well as her remarkable life and writings. Rolf’s guide is so brilliant that when we reluctantly return to our equally troubled twenty-first century, Julian travels with us and intimately inhabits and transforms our world and outlook. Stunning, unforgettable, and life changing. Rt. Rev. David Wilbourne, honorary assistant Bishop, Diocese of York

In this four-day retreat, award-winning author Veronica Mary Rolf and contemplative-scholar Eva Natanya explore what it would take to believe so firmly in resurrection—both Christ’s glorification and the promise of our own—that our lives would be radically transformed by that faith right now. Based on their new book, Living Resurrected Lives: What it Means and Why it Matters (Cascade Books 2020), Veronica and Eva take a daringly integrated approach, balancing careful consideration of sacred Scripture with attention to history, theology, inter-contemplative religious dialogue, and personal meditative practice.
Veronica and Eva:
  • Offer compelling arguments to re-establish a bedrock for belief in the Gospel accounts
  • Elucidate St. Paul’s teachings on the transformation of the body and grapple with age-old conundrums about what happens to corpses and the continuity of personal identity: What dies? What lives on?
  • Suggest a new theological perspective that integrates quantum uncertainty with reflections on the malleable nature of identity
  • Revisit early Christian intuitions about the sublime qualities of the glorified body and explore how we might cultivate such qualities through our own individual practice.
In addition, Eva:
  • Discusses Tibetan Buddhist teachings on the great transference rainbow body that may shed new light on Christian understanding of the resurrected body.
  • Provides heart-stirring guided meditations on the resurrection experience described in the Gospels.
  • Proposes an embodied resurrection mysticism that can permeate—and transform—our lived practice every day.

Suddenly There is God:
Finding Christ in the Crisis
 An Online Retreat with
Veronica Mary Rolf

Can we find Christ within our suffering—even when the global crisis feels overwhelming?
Is Scripture still alive with God's Word—speaking to our own personal life experience?
How may we become a people of compassion and hope—precisely within the crisis?

Award-winning author and popular podcaster, Veronica Mary Rolf, offers a new way into Scripture by dramatizing stories of biblical characters who suffered through major crises and experienced divine presence within these crises. Then she relates these stories directly to the ways in which divine presence breaks in—suddenly!—to transform the sufferings of our own lives, from childhood, to adolescence, adulthood, maturity, and beyond.
